Google launches Google Finance - the challenge to financial news websites in USA

Google is making a bid for the eyeballs of private investors with the launch of a personal finance website. The company is mounting a challenge to online financial news sites by launching Google Finance in the US today.
The Google's answer to Yahoo's Finance offers an innovative/creative way to track the latest business developments in finance. The new service will allow users to search and find financial information about public and private listed companies, as well as mutual funds and other related stuff.
The innovative operation of the Google Finance site and its great interactive features are made possible by the use of AJAX. Adobe developer Mike Chambers writes that Google Finance uses an open source Flash / Javascript integration kit. The Flash / JavaScript Integration kit makes it possible to seamlessly communicate between Flash and JavaScript. JavaScript functions can be called from Flash, and ActionScript functions from JavaScript.
Some of the features that Google Finance is offering to its users are :
Blogs – Google Finance integrates the blog postings.
Discussion Forums – Google Finance helps users to communicate with quality discussion forums.
Interactive Charts - Will help the user to analyze.
News – Google Finance integrates the Google News service.
Search - User can search the other financial sites data
Portfolios – Manage the portfolio of stocks and mutual funds.
