Pixsy Launches AJAX Powered Visual Search for images and Videos

Pixsy.com is a new Ajax powered web service that searches for images and videos. Pixsy looks for visuals i.e. images and videos in the RSS feeds and categorizes them in a searchable directory.
Pixsy uses a simple interface, once the user enters the search term, it displays the results in two tabbed areas namely - images and videos. Clicking on a result entry brings out a preview, superimposed over the rest of search results. Now from there users can choose to go to the source page. Pixsy collects content from thousands of providers and the number of providers is growing rapidly as per Pixsy.
The Pixsy approach is “Freshness + Relevancy” and the goal is to collect, index, and organize this material so you can search for the latest content across multiple providers.
The major difference between Pixsy and Google Image Search is that Google looks for content in webpages. But inturn Pixsy searches the more dynamic and swiftly expanding realm of RSS feeds, which are provided mainly by blogs and news outlets.
