Lightbox v2.0 Released
03/28/2006, By Ajax Impact News

Lightbox lovers has a good news, Lokesh Dhakar has just released the Lighbox 2.0. Lightbox JS is a simple, unobtrusive script used to overlay images on the current page. It's a snap to setup and works on all modern browsers.

Its very easy to add and it works on all modern browsers. Just add the javascript to your page, and add rel="lightbox" to a link tag to activate. You can also apply the site related customization depending upon your site design.

Benefits of Lightbox

  • Places images above your current page, not within. This frees you from the constraints of the layout, particularly column widths.

  • Keeps users on the same page. Clicking to view an image and then having to click the back button to return to your site is bad for continuity (and no fun!).
