Dean Edwards has written one more standards based Java Script library in his recent article entitled "Another JavaScript Library Without Documentation."
This base2.DOM library works fine with the following platforms:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (Windows)*
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2 (Mac)*
Firefox 1.0
Opera 7.5
Netscape 6.0
Safari 1.2
Camino 1.0
Konqueror 3.4
* MSIE5.0 (Windows) and MSIE5.2 (Mac) require an additional file base2-legacy.js (2KB).
base2 Highlights:
A fast implementation of the Selectors API
Fixes broken browser implementations of the DOM events module including document.createEvent(), dispatchEvent(), addEventListener(), etc
Supports DOMContentLoaded
Fixes getAttribute()/setAttribute() (Internet Explorer)
Implements getElementsByClassName()
Implements a few other useful DOM methods like getComputedStyle() and compareDocumentPosition()
Supports a variety of browsers including ancient browsers like IE5.0 (Windows and Mac)
