Michael Robertson is one of the few people who genuinely deserves to be called a serial entrepreneur--and his businesses always seem to involve quirky, David-like combat against a corporate Goliath, be it the music industry (which he took on with the original MP3.com), Microsoft (Linspire, the OS formerly known as Lindows), or the phone companies (SIPphone). He doesn't always win--actually, by the daunting standards he sets for himself, he's never really won--but the battle is always fun to watch, and neat things come out of it. (I still miss My MP3.com, which let you access streaming audio of CDs you owned--too bad it turned out to be illegal.)
