Nice & Clean Sliding Login Panel built with jQuery
05/16/2009 by By Jeeremie

This tutorial will explain you how to add some Mootools effects to your web pages to show/hide a login panel. Its implemented using jQuery.

He walks us through the steps of dropping this code into your site and provides the final source code as well to make the whole process painless. The end result is a very nice and intuitive slide down login panel which provides a nice balance of functionality and preserving screen real-estate.

What's new in this version?

- Panel has been redesigned to be "slicker".

- Panel overlaps content instead of "pushing" it.

- Images are transparent... and work in IE6! This means, you can change the background color of the body as you wish or even set a background image.

- Login button that slides the panel down changes from "Log In | Register" to "Close Panel" on click and I have added some nice rollover images.
