Philipp Lenssen has released the Google Blogoscoped Chat as Open Source. Google Blogoscoped is an simple and nice AJAX chat system.
I’m releasing the Google Blogoscoped chat application as open source/ GNU GPL CC license. This includes the cartoon graphics, the ability to create multiple rooms, and the quiz game the bot can play.
The installation steps of Google Blogoscoped Chat are:
You need PHP5 + MySQL
Download the ZIP File
Run the SQL contained in “sql-generate.txt” on your MySQL
Insert your database name, user and password within “database.php5”
Change graphics as needed
Upload the whole PHP5 project as a “chat” folder onto your root
You can now type example.com/chat/ or example.com/chat/room-[name]/ to chat
How Google Blogoscoped Chat Works:
To start the Google Blogoscoped Chat, You need to choose an avatar and have to give the avatar an nick name.
Once you entered in the room, just type something you want to say in the bottom input box and press Return. You will be then able to chat with the people already present in room. Now you can enjoy the Chat....
